Title: “SPELLBOUND”

Side One:

I’ll Be Standing By
All That Glitters Is Not Gold

Better Think It Over
Some Day, Some Way
Spellbound *
It’s Hard To Walk Away

Side Two:

I Remember You

I Can’t Take It+
Quicksand
Darling I Hum Our Song
Live Wire
Undecided Lover

In my fantasy world, where previously unreleased MR&TV recordings actually saw the light of day at the time, I imagine that "Spellbound" was a hit single, and an album of the same name was released, incorporating other hit singles such as "Quicksand" and "Live Wire". It's still a puzzle why those two had to wait for the "Greatest Hits" collection to see an album release.

Or perhaps I just need to up my medication? Humour me, it's my birthday to-day! Sharpmoves

Happy Birthday, Sharpmoves! Enjoy your day! ;)

No, you don't sound as if you need any medication. I'm thinking about that selection of tracks...

Nice pic of Martha, too......

Happy Birthday, Sharpmoves!

Yeah, why Motown denied Martha & The Vandellas an album to contain certain released singles throughout their career is beyond me. They did the same thing to The Marvelettes. At least Brenda Holloway rated one album to accommodate her early singles, but poor Kim Weston got NO solo albums at all despite several exciting Tamla and Gordy singles. Go figure!

Yes indeed it would. Although, still trying to incorporate the hit singles that were never given an album release, I came up with this collection, centered around Martha's favourite single - My Baby Loves Me:

Title: “MY BABY LOVES ME”

Side One:

C’mon And Swim*
Coney Island+
S.O.S [[Girl In Distress)*
Missing Lover
My Baby Loves Me
You Just Wouldn’t Listen

Side Two:

You’ve Been In Love Too Long
Never Leave Your Baby’s Side
Love Makes Me Do Foolish Things
Too Much Pressure On My Heart
I Can’t Understand It
I Got it Bad
