The chief architect and author of many signature tunes for Diana Ross, Whitney Houston, Natalie Cole, and Roberta Flack has passed. Let's also not forget his great score for the Motown film, Mahogany.

May he rest in peace....

His list of credits is so impressive and far more extensive than I even realized. A really great songwriter. His work with Ross is still my favorite of anything she ever recorded.

Oh what sad news. I adore his music especially his magnificent work with Diana and Roberta.
He knew how to capture the best of Diana vocally and i wish they had worked together more, ditto Roberta. Another musical giant now playing in heaven. Thank you for the music Mr Masser. r.i.p.

I knew him mainly for his work with Whitney and Dionne and he brought out the absolute best in both of them. Truly a sad loss.

God, what a shock! Along with Ashford & Simpson, Michael Masser had what it takes to bring out the best in Diana's solo recordings. Gonna miss you bad, Michael. You were tops.

It would be wonderful to record a new Diana Ross album with all Masser songs.

I bet she'd do an awesome job, and sell a lot of units worldwide.

Aretha just did with her latest release.
