One of the most amazing stories in the history of popular music to me is the story of the original drifters being fired en mass by thier manager[george treadwell]and being replaced by the five crowns who became the[new]drifters,but are there any recordings by the first group after the fact? They could still bring it vocally but it seems they were doomed by thier own fame, there always seemed to be two sets of[drifters]but only the second group was recording, after bill pinkney and gerhard thrasher left the recording door seemed to slam shut on the original drifters...any recordings by the first group after the fact????....robb k-ralph-marv-soulster-stu..you guys are soul encyclopidias..any ideas on this??
