When males try to date pretty Clinece Stubbs a memberof the 4 Tops quartet, she laughs and introduces her husband Levi who also sings with the group.

Now that is news to me. Not that it isn't true, I was just too young to know or remember.

I saw the article. I am guessing that maybe she was subbing for one of the members during the time.

I'm surprised that the Tops were featured in Jet three years before their first hit. I know they were in the game long before that, but I didn't think they were well known outside the Detroit area!

They spent sometime touring and opening for Billy Eckstine. I think that is what gave them their first national attention.
