This makes me really happy. I love Queen Latifah. She's got some great acting and musical chops to boot. Cannot wait for this.

This should be a good one. I love much of HBO's original programming especially the biopics. They often surpass the quality of feature films. And both of Dana Owen's [[Latifah) vocal albums are pleasant surprises.

Yes!!! VERY excited about this. I remember all the talk about Aretha/Roberta Flack/Thelma Houston being slated to do this project in the 70s...it's about time!

I don't think Aretha Franklin would have had either the patience or the discipline to do a movie that required acting that wasn't similar to what she already did, like in The Blues Brothers

Thelma Houston at one time was suppose to star in a movie about Bessie Smith. Too bad that didn't work out. This should be good. It stars Queen Latifa and Mo'nique.
