My favorite David Ruffin song and often my favorite Motown song [[though there are too many favorites, so "the" favorite changes at times)...

I first became aware of this song through Little Anthony and the Imperials' single in 1970. I didn't even know it was a Motown song at the time. Both versions are extremely good.

Thank you, Carole. This track should have been released. It deserved to be a huge hit for David, for A&S, AND for Motown.
I didn't know Little Anthony and the Imperials covered World of Darkness! Thanks for pointing it out.
I always perceived World of Darkness as the gloomy counterpart of My Girl, particularly because of the opening line: The sun may be shining sunny and bright, but my world is black like the darkness of the night... quite to opposite to ... I've got sunshine on a cloudy day...
