Well, for most of us here, we have probably heard or bought these unheraled Motown songs; it is an interesting list from the Detroit Free Press:

Wow, great list of songs! I didn't even know "When I Had Your Love" by Marvin Gaye. Is it on any of the many compilations we now have? Glad to see the Velvelettes pick, and I think "I'll Keep Holding On" by the Marvelettes is quite worthy as well.

Hey Kenny! How’s it goin’, Buddy? Marvin Gaye’s "When I Had Your Love" is an interesting and appealing non-album, B-side track whose melody has a unique Asian theme running through it [[musically, not lyrically). It can be found on the following CD’s: - Gary

I agree as well.

It must be tough to have been a Velvelettes fan back then. Not even one album! I always felt the Marvelettes got short shrift from the powers that be because of all the attention paid to the Supremes, but at least the Marvelettes and Vandellas had their one LP per year. I can't understand why the Vels never had one because their two hits were played a lot even as relatively "new" oldies!

Thanks for that thoughtful response.

I wish I had a penny for every time I thought that. LOLOL

Even the new extravaganza [[see thread posted today) that is to be hosted by Mary Wilson excludes the Velvelettes...just like Motown 25. I'll add it to an already L-O-N-G list!

At least they got a stamp in their honour....

Where did they get a stamp? From one of those Caribbean countries that always do the collectable fun stamps?

It's still a stamp.....
