I have a question on Ric Tic 121, Can't Stop Looking for My Baby b/w Just The Lonely by the Fantastic Four. I have in my collection all of the Fantastic Four singles on the Ric Tic and Soul labels except RT 121. I have been trying for a long period of time to locate one at a fair price. People's Records in Detroit seems to put a used copy on every 2 or 3 months but the prices go out of sight. The one that just sold was not in perfect condition, had been cleaned, and sold for $76.03. That is way too much.

Can anyone explain to me why this one particular single by the FF is so scarce and worthy of a high price as they appear to be getting. It totally baffles me. Is it really that scarce?

Any comments appreciated. Thank you.

It was pretty rare even in the 70's....

It was a popular Northern Soul play in the hey day. No doubt any spare copies were snapped up by collectors and dealers.

Thanks, woodward, for mentioning Ric Tic 121. I had never heard either side so I took a listen and enjoyed both sides, especially "Can't Stop Looking For My Baby." To these ears, it sounds as if it was recorded right down in Motown's "snake pit." Great tune.
