I think the girls are not wearing the cape, because they could trip over it during the choreography, because the choreography of Bad Weather is very "active". And because Jean is the lead singer of the group...

More likely, if you look closely, Jean had put some weight on and her costume is tight and is even riding up on her. The feathers covered some of her girth.

This was the infamous taping where Jean refused to rehearse. This must have been a nightmare for sound, lighting and cameramen. Jean was miserable in the group at this point and made no secret of it

Yes!! These outfits are among my favorite outfits the Supremes ever wore! The slim, bell-bottom curves are quite sexy and elegant.
