Can someone explain to me, for what reason, Sofa Entertainment cut some parts of the performances of the Supremes on the Ed Sullivan Show? Here's a example:

They cut half of the performance!!! Why? Why?

They cut: Love Child and You Can't Hurry Love too!

Back in the 90s, some Ed Sullivan shows began airing in syndication as half-hour "Best Of" episodes. To keep to a 30-minute timeslot, some performances were shortened. Unfortunately, I believe some edited performances were also used when they were first released on home video.

Reese is right, Weslley. Butchering the music allowed the powers-that-be to squeeze in more commercial time. It's an artistic crime but it's legal. Here in the U.S., they do it all the time. When airing sit-coms in reruns, they'll edit out entire scenes to make room for more commercial breaks. Apparently music shows are no exception.
