I am not a huge fan of remixes, but every now and then I hear one that catches my ear in a good way. This is one of them. Check it out!

LOVE-LOVE-LOVE THIS REMIX.
Imagine the many fantastic albums Mary might have made over the years had she been given the opportunity to work with top producers such as Narada, George Duke or Joe Sample..
She has always had the talent, but sadly never that one person or record company that truly believed in her or who were prepared to take a risk .

Thanks Marv! I do like this mix; maybe even better than the original. Have you ever heard Mary sing U live? I cant say for sure, but she may have at Pine Knob in the mid 90's. We walked in with Martha, Esther Gordy, and Derrick Thorton from the Motown Museum.

Yes she sang it in New York back in '96.
Frankie Crocker use to play it on WBLS during drive time after work.

I think it is very hot. Should have been longer though. I want an extended version of it.

"Rainy day" mood....indeed. I prefer this to the original. Wish it was longer, though. Good stuff!

King Britt, a very gifted turntable wiz, has worked on a remix of Mary Wilson's "U" on vinyl and CD format which is well worth seeking out!

My ears may be failing me, but this sounds very similar [[or may be the same mix) as Blacksmith's, however, it is credited to Groove-E.

Mary Wilson did the ONE thing that some people are afraid of doing she did URBAN and she got it right. For a singer from the sixties to do this takes some guts. I know Ben E King did Supernatural thing and Gene Chandler did Get on Down and in the seventies that was not hard for a lot of singers to do disco. Ross is uber talented and has sold millions of records but Workin Overtime didnt cut it [[not for me anyway) Ross did well with Disco though. If this had been promoted it would have been a smash! No stupid auto tune and no silly back up dancers ..Mary did this one right and it could have been a hit no cursing or any of that.

I am not big into alter egos but Ron Isley did well with Mr Biggs ...I wish Mary had that chance she could have worked it with this.
