Hey, Methuselah2! I didn't realize that you provided this excellent thread until after I had already posted the following. [[I should have known it was you!) This is a great record which I've never heard before. Had I heard it on the radio back in 1967, I would have raced to the record store, expecting it to be on one of Motown's labels. It sure has The Motown Sound down pat! Thanks for enlightening me.

Gary - It's one of those non-Motown, Motown-sounding, originally started at Motown but finished elsewhere songs. There. That's it. And it might not be a category unto itself. Glad you liked it. There's a whole lot goin' on in that recording. The Stevie Wonder connection was an interesting fact to surface.
