I so wish that Martha would sing it straight and soulful like she did on all of those great Motown recordings. Overuse of trills and falsetto just ruins it for me. She can still do it. I saw her on TV a few years ago when she actually sang it straight and soulful like she used to. I couldn't help but think, "Well, welcome back, Martha! It's about time!" But, then, the next time I saw her on TV, she was right back to jazzin' it up with the trills and falsetto. I guess I just don't get it.
