It always makes me smile when I hear "Motown" on tv; this morning the trailer for "This is Where I Leave You", the upcoming movie with Jane Fonda, Jason Bateman, Tina Fey, etc. came on and I was happily surprised to hear "Nowhere to Run" by Martha and the Vandellas featured.

Googled for a soundtrack listing, but couldn't come up with anything.

Anyway, just wanted to share. :)

To MaryBrewster: Motown has always been popular when it comes to movie soundtracks. It DOES kinda make ya smile, doesn't it! And Martha & The Vandellas' "Nowhere To Run" is HOT! The guys in Motown's "Snakepit" knew what they were doin' with those snow chains! - Gary

Over here in the UK the Apple iPad ad has Undeniable by Mos Def as its music track, which has Marvin's Chained at its core. And Chained sounds great bursting out into my living room from the TV. I can't stop playing Chained all over again now.

I don't think I've seen that Ad yet Soulwally ... however there is a regularly aired TV Commercial where I live for Match.com that features a Motown classic .... :)

Martha & the Vandellas' "It's Easy To Fall In Love [[With A Guy Like You)" was featured in Hitch. Someone must have been a Motown fan because the song was just released from the vaults. The Supremes' "Back In My Arms Again" was used in commercials for the Parent Trap remake in the late 90's.

Then there are the commercials. In the mid-late 90's, Burger King used "No Matter What Sign You Are" in one of their commercials. About 10 years ago, the ladies clothing chain Chicos had a commercial which played the Miracles' "It's A Good Feeling" for the entire 30 second time slot.
