This song reminds me of Close the Door by Teddy Pendergrass when it first came out I didnt care for it but several years later I fell in love with it.

That was exactly what I was thinking when I first heard it on the album. I know Teddy and went to Mary for advice on leaving the Blue Notes back in 1977. This has that Philly Sound written all over it:
