Mojoman....thanks for sharing this clip! The song she did on Merv's show "Reach Out And Touch" showed Diana really comfortable and in great voice. ..posted by the same youtube member [[and he has lots more Diana clips) Check that one out too!

Great clip! Wow! Do you suppose this would have been prior to "Ain't No Mountain" being released? If so, this may have been one of her first TV appearances, after leaving the Supremes?

She sang AIN'T NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH later in the show and Merv mentioned that it was the #1 record in the country. I think this was her only TV appearance in 1970, other than the FAREWELL clips shown on American Bandstand.

Im curious as to why she said it was a smash. It did well but Aint no Mountain was a smash.

This is one of those records I prefer live and cant listen to on record all of the time. When Diana would sing this [[like now) during this period her voice was a lot stronger than people give her credit for it was not a nasal sound. She proved to be someone who had not only a unique voice but a strong one.
