From the TV Highlights in today's Washington Post.

". . . Hosted by series regular Martha Reeves, 'DANCE PARTY: THE TEENARAMA STORY' [[WHUT at 8 P.M.) looks back at the Washington, D. C., TV program 'Teenarama Dance Party,' which was geared to black teens in the 1960's. Includes commentary from several show favorites, including James Brown. . . ."

According to the interactive listings, WHUT is a PBS station and will broadcast the show from 8 PM until 10 PM. I do not know if any other PBS stations will be carrying it.

I never heard of the program "Teenarama Dance Party" featuring Martha Reeves. Can someone enlighten me on her regular appearances on it?

Thank you.

Yes this was a very entertaining program. I was lucky enough to see it several years ago.

In the 50's, 60's and 70's different citites around the country had their own local TV dance shows. Detroit, Philly, St. Louis, NYC, Boston, Nashville, Windsor, LA etc, etc,

I think it would make for an interesting thread to compile a list of these shows.
