The fabulous Marvelettes lead singer who rocked the group to fame in 1961 with their #1 hit PMP had a birthdate yesterday, and I could not go to bed without posting something about this wonderful woman whose voice stood the test of time with followup hits and albums. Gladys would have been 69 had she lived. She was taken away from us, but she will forever be etched in my mind as the lady whose voice was a great part of the girl group genre under the Marvelettes handler Happy Birthdate Gladys Horton.
