With the beard right? He was our dude! This is sad news on top of sad news. My favorite teacher from High School died this week also.

I remember Robert Mickens and the Gang from a summer concert they did in the park way back in 1974 singing "Hollywood Swingin'". He was great as were the rest of them. He'll be missed. RIP Spike, we'll remember you.

Yes Marv, he was the one that sported the beard. If memory serves correct, he's been battling heath issues for a long time.

GeeTee, you know we had the best music during our lifetimes, don't you? This guy and so many others were responsible for that. I just saw an interview recently where Robert Kool Bell was talking about a project they were doing with Nile Rodgers....bummer.

I still haven't seen any official mention of his death.
Not even in their website http://www.koolandthegang.com/msg

I meant to comment on this earlier but got distracted. Anyway, I haven't seen any mention of this either, not even from
Bob Davis over at Soul Patrol. Since I don't do Twitter or Facebook I'll have to wait for further confirmation. Spike was one of my early heroes, the pre-JT Kool and the Gang being one of the first bands I ever saw live..
