I think this was mentioned before in the past, but my choice would be the group Starpoint. Speaking of "Unsung," I just finish watching the Miki Howard episode and I must say,she was the perfect choice for "Unsung."

THE SUPREMES, [[Mary Wilson Cindy Birdsong Jean Terrell Lynda Laurence Scherrie Payne and Susaye Greene)From the 70s, There's a story there, Like why, Motown didn't push them, Maybe with good reason, were they mad at Mary for keeping THE SUPREMES going ? After Jean and Lynda left the group, And Mary regrouped, With the return of Cindy Birdsong, and new SUPREME Scherrie Payne, After a year something went wrong, Cindy was out, And Susaye Greene was the last SUPREME, THE SUPREMES, Mary Scherrie and Susaye were doing great shows, But with no support from Motown, But why ?
Yes theres a story to be told ,THE SUPREMES from the 70s UNSUNG.
Pleae stay positive
p.s Happy Birthday MISS SCHERRIE PAYNE

Cameo & Bobby Womack got my vote. I'd like to see Johnny "Guitar" Watson & Ohio Players on there.
George Johnson said on his FB page that they were about to the do one on the Bros Johnson,
but GJ had a change of mind. He didn't want the same negative treatment the previous artists
received on Unsung.

For once, I'd like for someone to actually read a dictionary & come up with the story of someone...ANYONE whom is ACTUALLY UNSUNG!

To be serious, I'd go with Russell Thompkins Jr. & The Stylistics. In a modern era where the lead singers of groups with much lesser accomplishments names are widely known, Russell should receive more attention for his for his musical contributions. His voice leads some of our most enduring classics & I believe that the story of Russell & The Stylistics is worth telling.

I second that. With the exception of this season's show on Tammi Terrell, the rest of the Unsung shows were kind of lacking and have not resulted in career resurgences for any of the subjects this season. Though the shows on Miki Howard and the I'Jays were enlightening and I learned things I did not know. But the shows seem to be settling on a predicatble formula of triumph and tragedy.
Glencro has some good ideas or names in his list

If it's triumph and tragedy the UNSUNG produucers are looking for stories of triumph and tragedy, we have tried to get them interested in Carla Thomas' story.

Once again, let's keep in mind that the show itself supplies it's own definition of the what Unsung means. We may not agree with their interpretation, but that's how they define it.

I believe that Carla Thomas & David Porter would be great subjects.

Timmy:

I know how they define it, in which case they should change the name to "Stories We Wanna Tell Y'all".

:)

Yeah, I know. But the stories they do tell probably wouldn't get told anywhere else.

I have to second Glencro's suggestion of Ronnie Dyson. I thought the one on Minnie Riperton last year was really good.
