Perfect casting IMHO, and I hope to be able to see this film. A whole slew of questions flood
my head at this mention and though I understand the producers seem to be playing with
their own toys over the use of Cincy as a back drop I really hope the focus will be on Miles
and how he impacted Jazz music, American and world culture. Also, who the funk is going
to play John Coltrane? How can you talk about Miles without at least a mention of the saxophonist who I feel deserves a film of his own? Dang! You sure got me worked up early
today, glencro:)...

I'd love to see a movie about Trane as well. If they do this one right and they'll have a heck of a set of jazz films between it, "Bird" and "'Round Midnight".

I had the opportunity to meet Miles Davis in Minneapolis, MN just 2 weeks before he passed in 1991.

Didn't read the article but IMHO Cheadle is the perfect choice to play Miles.

Jerry, they didn't exactly get BIRD right as far as the story goes but casting Whitaker was a good choice.
