Thank you! I've been waiting to hear this for a while! I'd always thought they had pre-recorded the tracks, but it sounds like they're singing live. "Michael" sounds nice, but the "Lord Helps Themselves" bit is strange. The girls sound great, though! Can't say the same about the acting, even Diana's...

I wonder if the Supremes were cast as nuns just to ensure there would be absolutely no interracial sexual tension [[then taboo for network TV in 1968) between Tarzan and The Supremes?

To me, this was a misguided effort. The script was pretty lame and it somehow just fell flat. Granted, it wasn't as embarrassing for them as, say, snarling up Paris traffic and having the gendarmes sicced on them, or lipsyncing "Stop!" while driving go-karts, but, to me, it came pretty close. It was an obvious attempt at showcasing Diane as an actress, which could not have been done at the time without including Mary and Cindy and giving them a few throwaway lines.

Thank you for posting this. I have a VHS copy of it, but, the resolution was not as good as the one posted here.
I never really watched the "Tarzan" series, though guys used to love to do that ear curdling scream down the hallway in school. [[It was silly, but, sometimes really funny especially watching Mother Superior trying to catch the culprit).
Despite its dated quaintness, I thought I read somewhere that was a Neilsen ratings blockbuster!

it seems to me this "Tarzan" TV series was syndicated as we got it like at 5pm on Saturdays. You can bet we were glued to the TV when this was on. What so many of you younger people are missing is that this WAS a big deal for ANY Pop/Rock/or Soul singers to be on TV in the 60's much less a non-music show.POP culture of any sort was not looked at favorably by the mainstream.

The Ed Sullivan Show, American Bandstand, Soul Train, Hullabaloo, Shindig, and for those of us on the west coast, The Lloyd Thaxton Show [[maybe this one was nationally syndicated as well was that generation's MTV/VH1 and BET's Video Soul!!!

Laugh-in gave music artists cred. But when your favorite artist appeared on a non-music show, you are so right, it was viewed differently [[mostly positive).
