I know that the PS only recorded one album for Motown but I think they are probably the most successful girl group since the supremes.
what do you think is there best album?
I always thought ENERGY was good. I also think ONLY SISTERS CAN DO THAT was great.

Correction: To my knowledge so far, as a group, the Pointers completed one album, PLUS the 1987 Motown Christmas Special, and original member whose been on their initial batch of albums, Bonnie Pointer, about two albums, even though for the most part, disco-fied covers of Motown Standards, late seventies. "Break Out" seems to be a pretty popular work of theirs, that has been printed and reprinted time and again in vinyl and CD forms, but my all-time favorite song of theirs is still "He's So Shy".

Yeah! I'm a fan, but I prefer their stuff on Blue Thumb Records in the early to-mid 70s, and just a couple of their Planet albums.

I loved their stuff on Blue Thumb, that was outstanding but I wasn't so keen on them after that.

Midnightman, I used to have a German 45 by THE POINTER SISTERS which had "We've Got The Power" on the "A" side and a Spanish Language song on the "B" side called "Es Tan Timido".

It took me a while to realise that "Es Tan Timido" was merely "He's So Shy" sung in Spanish .... :)

It must be at least 30 years since I heard "Es Tan Timido" but through the wonders of the Internet I've found it again ...

They worked with a number of other musicians too. I loved them backing both Taj Mahal
and Rick James Stone City Band. When I have more time I'll try to find those on youtube....

That album they put on in 1985. I can't remember then name now, but "Dare Me" was on it.

I agree. I lived in Berkeley when the Pointers were just starting out. I remember getting see them [[all four of them) perform and it was recorded and shown on KQED [[PBS) back in the early 70's. I was a student at Cal at the time. Those were wild days. I remember their encore was "Let it Be Me". These were the days before video recorders so who knows what happened to the tape.
