I certainly remember that release Soulballad. Mind you, I'm not sure whether THE UNIVERSAL ROBOT BAND were a distinct group or some studio musicians assembled by PATRICK ADAMS to play on his latest project ..

There were a whole host of similar PATRICK ADAMS productions around at the time [[1976/77), that were featuring that "Moog Synthesiser" sound .. notably ..

CLOUD ONE - "Atmosphere Strut" ...

SAMMY GORDON & THE HIPHUGGERS - "Making Love" ...

And then in 1978 ...

SINE - "Just Let Me Do My Thing" ...

However, a few years later THE UNIVERSAL ROBOT BAND name was revived for this groovy goody [[this time with no mention of PATRICK ADAMS) so maybe the group did really exist as a separate identity ..

You are right about the band! I guess a better question would have been do you remember the song? I seriously doubt that the ladies/vocalists who performed the song were the same ones on the recording. I'm hearing at least one male voice in the mix. The actual musicians were great though. This packaging of various talent was great back then. I think Patrick also produced some of the tracks of the first Sister Sledge album. He along with Greg Carmichael and Leroy Burgess are another group of very talented guys that has gotten kinda lost in the shuffle.

Some members of The Universal Robot Band eventually became the basis of KLEER.
