The Good Girls

Does anyone know whatever happened to this group? They recorded for a short time at Motown, during the "new jack swing" movement. Some thought they would be the "new" Supremes.

Here's their version of "Itching"; an odd choice IMO of a Supremes cover.

They have a Facebook Page. It appears that they still perform occasionally and posted back in Oct 2013 that they were in the studio working on a new album.

I would say, many, MANY, New Jack Swing Era, 1987-early nineties was halted, whether in new albums, or hit albums, by 1992, or soonafter, thanks to Grunge. Not just Motown's Good Girls and Today, but anyone heard anything GREAT from Bobby Brown, MC Hammer, or Paula Abdul after their 1991-1992 albums?

I just once watched, heard that 1992 was Michael Jackson's year, "Black or White", before Kurt Cobain - but then again, was a Vh1 documentary. Still, C'mon, there had to be a explanation why Al B. Sure!'s last album until recently was "Sexy Versus", 1992

That group reminds me of another group, Sweet Sensation, which also covered a Supremes song - "Love Child."

Anyhow, loved their first album, especially "Your Sweetness" and "I Need Your Love", loved their voices, and their schoolgirl-esque charms. They sounded pretty solid on MC Trouble's "Make You Mine" too.

There were a lot of girl groups in the late 80s and early 90s and The Good Girls got lost in the crowd and were not able to stand out like other groups such as Expose or En Vogue.

I have to admit that I own both of their cds, the second one is better and has 4 or 5 songs that are quite nice [[in an early/mid 90s sort of way).

the only thing I thought was what was Motown thinking with the name.

They went separate ways finally. One got married , one went into acting and I thing one just does recording as a background singer. They were not Motown's answer for the Supremes.
