What was their current single at the time of this performance? It's odd that 2 years into their careers as hitmakers they're already doing a hits medley. Or were they between singles and got this Sullivan gig for the purpose of promoting their nightclub act?

I think that is the show where they sang "My favorite things". It was most likely a "Christmas" show. I would think they were promoting their Christmas Album. The medley was just an extra treat. This is just a guess.

YOU KEEP ME HANGIN' On was their current release, and might have been #1 at the time of this performance. So they were singing their latest hit, as well as getting in some catalog sales for the Xmas album.

YKMHO - their 2nd fasted rising single, had already peaked at #1 and dropped to #5 when this aired, but it was still a smash in it's 7th week on the chart. Love Is Here was still a month away. Can you imagine getting a killer new release every few months? It was great back then. I love the medley - just exactly the correct songs [[except I hate the ending of YCHL) and this is my fave Flo hair - she's so cute in it. This is a perfect example of why, regardless of how great Cindy was/is, no one could replace Flo when she's on her game.

They flipped A-sides on the Christmas 45 and sent it out again to plug the album.

I believe it was "Hangin' On." This was December 1966, if I'm remembering correctly.

In this last week, we have seen my two fave TV appearances of Flo looking her best [[pink Chiffon Sullivan & Tonight Show) she just is so damn cute and sparkly, but I think this is my fave Mary appearance - she looks sensational. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2h00ExZUaWc

There are great - do you have a clean copy of You're Nobody from '69 or Fats Waller?

These vids are from a fellow youtuber and my own.

This is the clearest version of the Fat's Waller Medley uploaded thus far.

Does anyone have the following clips:

1. A live performance of "A Lover's Concerto" from Hullabaloo. I remember it being on Youtube around December 2006, and then it disappeared.

2. Their medley of "I Hear a Symphony" songs from the Ed Sullivan Show. They were wearing the silver gowns from their famous performance of "You Can't Hurry Love," so it must be from the same show.

These would be appreciated if any of them could be added to Youtube.

I have the #2 clip, but I forgot to how to post videos to youtube since one must now have a google account.

The Fats Waller medley is the best specialty number The Supremes ever did on TV--good song selection, fun choreography, nice showcase moments for Diana, yet Mary and Cindy's talents were well used as well. The performance showed how excellent that line up was, individually and collectively as a group.

The Fats Waller Medley, their performance of "Always" on Ed Sullivan, and "Do Not Forsake Me" from the Bing Crosby special are some of their best specialty numbers

I think the "Millie Rose Mame" production number they did with Flo was good. I also like the "Funny Girl" medley they did.

Thank you Soulballad for posting Fats Waller, I agree with Smarkster that it's my fave Sullivan [[along with The Impossible Dream/You're Nobody.)
