Motown legend Diana Ross will headline the annual PACER Center benefit May 3 at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

Tickets are $600 to $70 and are on sale via Pacer.org or 952-838-9000. Proceeds benefit children with disabilities.

Ross, who turns 70 in March, rose to fame in the '60s as the lead singer of Motown Records' most commercially successful act, the Supremes. She left the group in 1970 to pursue a solo career. She also dabbled in acting, appearing in "Lady Sings the Blues," "Mahogany" and "The Wiz." Billboard magazine once named her the "Female Entertainer of the Century."

In recent years, Ross has slowed down some, and has released just one album in the new century, 2006's "I Love You." She continues to tour, however, and played Minneapolis' Orpheum Theatre last August.

Diana Ross to Play Albany

posted Feb 10, 2014

Yet another concert announcement: Diana Ross is set to play The Palace June 24. Tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday [[February 14) -- the price range is $45-$175. [[The upper end is for the "Gold Circle," which we can only guess is actually made of gold.)

Ross is, of course, one of the most famous and popular singers of American pop music ever, and an influence on a huge range of artists. It sounds like the Palace show will be her singing the hits -- of which there were many, both with The Supremes and solo.
