In case you haven't heard, "20 Feet From Stardom" has recevied a nomination for the 2014 Academy Awards.

I have yet to see the movie [[I just ordered the DVD yesterday), but this documentary includes, among others, legendary Motown ladies Susaye Greene, Mabel John and Tata Vega. Merry Clayton is also featured in the film; you may remember that Mary Wilson wrote [[in "Supreme Faith") that MC once auditioned to be a "backup" singer once MW started her solo career.

Congrats to all of the amazing women that this film spotlights; you deserve it! Sparkle on!

Actually Merry Clayton auditioned to be one of Mary's background singers after The Supremes disbanded but Mary turned her down because she was too good.

The perfect group for this title would have been the Adantes, I just saw it and was disappointed overall especially since their name never came up. They are the female version of Standing in the Shadows of Motown.
