Mariah's performance was taped. She was not in NYC on New Years Eve. She performed at a private party with Diana Ross. Many celebrities were in attendance. I don't get the "opening act" part of this. It was obviously said in order to get things started with fans/non fans in the New Year. So tired. It was a party. I think Diana performed earlier in the evening, and then Mariah performed at, or after midnight.

I don't think Miss Ross cares if she's viewed as an opening act for a billionaire or not. I do know she likes to keep her routine, routine - so doing a midnight show might be outta the question these days. Mariah might have insisted on going on last, or the Sultan may have wanted it that way. WGAF?

There are a million bitchy comments I could make to make him impotent for a year, but I'll not stoop..........hopefully. How ARE things in Chicago? I'll call Tom and find out. Happy New Year OWWW!*

Ya, I stooped a little, but I got a laugh out of it. So, I'll take it.

It too bad these old time aging artists get into these jams like Chicago. I always wish they'd never taken the first step without clearly understanding what they are getting into.

If they are working with a guarantee, I doubt that they care. My guess is that there was some sort of guarantee, or maybe "just" expenses. Room and board for at least 10 for 2.5 weeks ain't cheap. Maybe they are working off the house because of that comment Mary made - she will talk money quite freely.
