The first 3 one-hour Discovering Motown specials are available for listening now - lots and lots of hits, if anyone wants something to stick on in the background :)

...There'll be a few more of these before the show itself starts in the New Year; when it does, expect more rarities and treats!

Merry Christmas to everyone from Motown Junkies.

Bit of a delay with the date for the new show [[more information as and when I have it!) - in the meantime I'm recording the next 2 specials now [[on Motown duets, and the songwriting of Smokey Robinson, respectively).

The Guys one has the least clicks so far, but if I say it contains an extract from my interview with the Four Tops' Duke Fakir talking about their rivalry with the Temptations...?

Any comments and feedback [[good or bad!) would be gratefully received.

Cheers

I listened to Motown Ladies. I'm glad you included the 70's Supremes and included Up The Ladder To The Roof. The fact that The Supremes continued successfully without Diana is sometimes ignored.

You said that Tammi and Kim are footnotes to Motown history. I wouldn't call Tammi a footnote.

Both Mary Wells and Gladys Knight left Motown because they felt that they were not being treated well. Mary fell flat and Gladys went on to superstardom.

I also wondered what Mary Well's follow up hit to My Guy would be if she had stayed at Motown.

I enjoyed the first hour. I wish there were a way to record it so I can play it back in my car.

Thanks Milven, it's appreciated.

I hope my unscripted burbling didn't give the impression that I thought Tammi was insignificant - I just meant she hasn't been given her proper dues. I love Tammi. I wrote this about her a few days ago:

Thanks for listening :)
