Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, my Nightflight friends! Tonight, and next week, I present to you the Nightflight Holiday Shows. You'll hear holiday tracks from the last 80 years or so, ranging from Motown, soul and blues, to pop, country, comedy and novelty. But these won't be run-of-the-mill Christmas tracks that you can hear on other stations...and a few new extended versions too. I've spent the past 14 years searching for the most rare and interesting material for you...including this year. So do join me for the festivities as we take a bit of a break from The Complete Motown Singles collection to stir your holiday hearts! All this and more...tonight...on "Nightflight"...on WOMR 92.1 FM Provincetown and 91.3 FM Orleans and we are streaming live worldwide in digital stereo at www.womr.org [[http://www.womr.org)
Thanks so much...hope to see you!

Well there, "Santa John," it looks like you'll be serving up a lot of "My Favorite Things" this evening. Looking forward to this radio show. Maybe this image I captured in Los Angeles isn't quite the usual Christmas fare, but it's my thank you back for all you do! 7780

Thanks John. The mono version of My Christmas Tree has always been my favorite. Slightly dark, but what a wonderful performance by a young Diana. The stereo version is lighter with a minor lyric difference and fuller orchestration.

I believe My Christmas Tree was the first song Jimmy Webb sold.

It's a mystery to me why Julie London never recorded a Christmas album. It seems like a natural to me. I think she could have done a beautiful Santa Baby.

I think an entire Christmas album by Julie London would have been beyond excellent.

I think an entire Christmas album by Julie London would have been beyond excellent.

And the cover, Julie in a sexy Santa outfit, would have been perfect!

In 1957 Julie recorded "I'd Like You For Christmas" written by her hubby Bobby Troup. It was released as a b-side, but never made it to an album.

Beautiful Johnny Mathis song.... Worth pointing out that a Johnny just landed his first top 10 single this week on the AC charts with "Sending You A Little Christmas " since Simple back in 1984!

At exactly the same minute! When I was talking to MJ about the track, I told him I was pretty sure I had gotten it from you. I had not heard it before that.
