Music hall center for the performing arts

I just saw where an event is scheduled to honor Nelson Mandela at the Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts in Detroit.

Does anyone have any knowledge of any Motown artists ever appearing at this center? I never heard of it before, but reportedly it has been there for a long long time.

I don't know of any Motown artists who appeared there. But Aretha Franklin filmed her 1986 Showtime special there.
