Hey Everyone, there is some commercial for, I believe, makeup and it is using the original recording of "Say It With Love" by the Exciters from their Tell Him lp on United Artists label. I always loved the song and Brenda just informed me that I did hear correctly.

By the way, Brenda is the lead singer and it is a great song from a great album. If memory serves me correctly, it is a Van McCoy composition. That lp had a lot of good songs, unusual for an lp in the early 60s when the industry was really more of a singles [[45s) market.

Oh I forgot to mention when I heard the commercial I rushed up from my dining room table and thought it might be an old Exciters clip. I saw it was a commercial but people are being led to youtube from the commercial. Its good to see people have not forgotten the Exciters.

Stephanie, thank you for posting the interview. It was great! I've known Brenda for quite some time and she is a real sweetheart. Lillian seems so too. The commercial is for lip gloss.

My only interest here is in The Exciters, a group I've loved since I was a young chappy.
I've long been pissed that the New York Public Library has that album but not in
circulation, you can only listen to the dang thing through headphones siting in the Lincoln Center branch...Funk me...I'd never have heard that song otherwise, I don't watch tv, but

Splanky, Say It With Love by the Exciters can be found on you tube. I saw it last night as I was searching for another one of their recordings.

I'm a huge Exciters fan! "Do Wah Diddy" is a classic, and I've always thought the Manfred Mann version was dull and listless, especially compared to the Exciters' original - which I've always been disappointed that it wasn't a bigger hit for them.

Also, on Roulette their record "There They Go" was later reworked into "Here Comes The Night", a hit for a group called THEM in '65 and then later done by David Bowie!

I also think Brenda had one of the best voices of that era and judging from the little bits she sang in the interview with Mickey B., she's still got it. I was surprised to learn that she lives just up the road from me in Huntington.
