Debbie Taylor [[Maydie Myles) Live in the UK

Went to see Debbie Taylor perform last night up in my home county Yorkshire [[UK).
She has been performing jazz under the name of Maydie Myles for around the last 30 years but last night she was 'Debbie Taylor' once again.
The show was really great. The [[British) backing band & singers had only met her that morning but they had learnt all the songs ahead of time and after a run through / sound check around 12 hours before the show, they were ready.
Debbie did 2 x 30 minute shows performing her 60's & 70's tracks + a Maydie Myles jazz number [["Kiss of Life") as an encore. Lots of great dance numbers were included but her deep soul outings were also fully covered in the show.

BTW, the keyboard player in the band [[on the left edge of the video shot) is Mick Talbot, ex of the Style Council.

I really hope she comes to one of the weekenders, I really can't imagine not being moved by "I don't wanna leave you" along with her today and Decca records. a brilliant artist just hope i can get to see her

Fabulous stuff ..

"Just Don't Pay" is one of those unrecognised classics and I loved the way she sang it [[a bit like she was thinking that she didn't quite understand why the song is so popular!!).

Did she also do "Never Gonna Let Him Know"??

And that L.P. she did on the Today label was great as well ...
