Howdy, Nightflight listeners!! Tonight we go back in time...ONE more time [[and there will be many more times, too) to scour the singles released by Motown during the year 1963! And tonight I am adding a new wrinkle [[I have many wrinkles to spare). Instead of airing one volume per show, which doesn't allow quite as many single to be aired as I would like, I am going to devote 2 shows to each year/volume. So tonight and next week will bring to you Motown in singles..1963!
So do join me tonight for all this Motown and more...on "Nightflight"...on WOMR 92.1 FM Provincetown and WFMR 91.3 FM Orleans and we stream live worldwide in digital stereo at www.womr.org [[http://www.womr.org)
Thanks!
John

NOTE! SDF's OWN Rossholloway/Bobby Gardner plays a HUGE role in airing this magnificent UMe collection. He is sharing about 75% of the tracks that will be aired
during these special shows. Bobby....thanks so much for your heart and generosity!

I think it's a great idea to do two shows for each year, John, especially as we approach the hit packed peak years when MoTown was cranking out class after classic. Due to a two evening seminar I am attending, I will not be able to join you and the gang for most of the show tonight. Dagnabbit! But I'll catch as much as I can. You and the gang have a great show.

Well it was one of Stevie Wonder, Martha and the Vandellas, Mary Wells or Marvin Gaye ~ most weeks on the Hot 100 ~ I think I'd take Martha and the Vandellas.

If you mean most weeks at #1, it was Stevie Wonder.

What's the right answer?

maybe it was MR&V's- they had three top 40 hits.

You are correct! Martha & The Vandellas racked up 17 weeks between Come & Get These Memories [[6), Heat Wave [[8), and Quicksand [[3)

Mary Wells was first runner up with 12 weeks.... I'll put up the complete list later!

It's the Tea Party and the KOCK Brothers, who put out $200,000,00 to start the whole shutdown, that, by the way, was arranged a few days after Obama's second term started.

I think the Tea party should all be sued or thrown in prison for treasonous acts. What they are doing is slowly destroying the fabric of our society....

I thought the Republicans were supposed to be patriots. Instead, they are making the US political system the laughing stock of the rest of the world. America's enemies will take this as a sign of weakness, and they may strike. If they do, the Republicans will have been responsible.
