Thanks for posting the link to youtube.

Listening to the track just makes me remember how beautiful and talented Syreeta was, and so grossly underestimated.

We are so very lucky that before she left us, we have been given a fair number of recordings and HW has made sure that her first two albums for Motown were issued on CD a long time ago.

What an amazing person she was.

Keeping the Syreeta stuff on one thread, this was one of her funkiest tracks:

Definitely post-Stevie Wonder lol I think this came out in '80 or '81.

I have not bought the Syreeta CDS from Hip O. Would you guys recommend them? Is one better than the other?

There is only one CD from Hip O. It's the first album on Mowest, coupled with Stevie Wonder presents.... Syreeta.

Yes, I would recommend buying it. Probably above all that Hip O have released [[excluding the Singles Collections), this is my favourite and most welcomed CD.

Sure, I'm biased, as I think Syreeta's voice is the best female voice from the Motown stable. But the quality of songs on those two albums is superb, and I just know you'll enjoy the CD too.

Maybe this is kinda sacrilege but of Syreeta's albums, I actually prefer her Leon Ware-produced One to One over her sophomore release [[but that's only because she put out quality product) and her debut is still fascinating to listen to.

I urge you to get the Hip-O release. You will NOT be disapointed, I promise. The One To One album, I never really took to at the time. However, later listenings have proved that, yes, Syreeta, was quite a talent. And Leon Ware..well. He is regarded as a GOD in the U.K...Paulo XXX

^ And rightfully so. What I find interesting is how the artists Leon worked with from Marvin to Syreeta on down seemed to collaborate openly on tracks together. Especially Leon and Minnie. But Leon and Syreeta had something quite special too. Their unified chorus duet on "One to One" is amazing. Least I think that's Leon unless that's Jim Gilstrap [[who also added background vocals to the "One to One" album).

Here are my favorite tracks from that album:
