This song features the actual Marvelettes and I have to say I like it! They were great.Their sound may not have been as smooth, but it was raw and authentic. Forevermore has several songs with the actual ladies. The group the Toys remind me more the Marvelettes than the Supremes. Why more songs like this wasnt realeased is beyond me. While it may [[or may not )be strong enough for a single it certainly was good enough as an album track.

This song featuring Ann should have made it to the In Full Bloom Album. I think I'm hearing Kat and Wanda back there augmented with the Andantes on the ooohs.

I can see why the first two tracks were put in the can. They really don't stand out. "Breakthrough [[I've Got My Freedom)" on the other hand should have been released. Not sure if it had anything to do with Ann singing lead or not, but it's a great track that deserved to be on In Full Bloom.

Whilst I agree 'So Glad It's Summertime' was not strong enough for an A side release, I feel that it is still a good song with a 'feel good' catchy tune, and was certainly worthy of release as an album track IMHO. It also is a good example of a Funk Brothers backing track.

For some reason, it sounds to me like a great song to use in a TV commercial!

Cheers

The vocal is run-of-the-mill Marvelettes, which means good quality, but not great. This backing track is great. I generally prefer Stevenson-Hunter to HDH. This one was written by Ivy Hunter alone [[very unusualz0. But, most of the Stevenson-Hunter songs had Hunter as the primary creator, with Mickey adding a few changes or polishing the song a bit.

I can hear this one [["Breakthrough [[I've Got My Freedom)") [[a Dean-Weatherspoon song) sung by Martha and The Vandellas.
