Well done, Ralph and co, and congratulations. As someone has said above, the site is a must-visit for me every day. I also have learned a lot, and been able to share some of my thoughts and knowledge which, compared to many on here, is limited.
I'm at the senior scale of things, and know that the internet can be an instrument for all that's bad in life. But it's also allowed us to share our life experiences, including musical ones, in a way we could never have imagined 20-0dd years ago.
And with youtube, and the signposts to it from soulfuldetroit users, I and others have been able to watch and listen to things we never would have without the internet.

HappY BirthDay, indeed. I'm still learning a lot on SD I'd never find anywhere else and trust me, there have been times when I tried:)....

Pity that we seem to have lost many of the knowledgable posters / industry insiders and just seem to get endless boring threads about the Supremes and their members these days.

Absolutely, Happy Birthday to the site that changed my life. I only wish that Babbit was still around for me to thank him for sending me here.

In the meantime, thanks to all of you for educating, correcting and challenging me all these years. I have been schooled so much by all of you, that I owe y'all tuition money. It's been a bit of a wild ride, let's keep it going. BTW, who let those dogs out?!

12 years...it's been quite a run! This place is still a great place to be, just like in the 'wilderness' years...I've met many great folks here and hope to meet many more!!

Best,

Mark

I wasn't here for that, but reading through the archives is amazing. I've learned more from those archives than I have from any books I have read about music and the business/recording side of things. It really is a shame they are gone. We need to find a way to get some of them back.

Happy Birthday SDF!!!

I am so glad I found SDF. When I joined I used to just sit back and read and marvel at the musical knowledge from some of the old posters who I truly miss. They gave me quite an education in music history and they also encouraged me to participate with the little that i knew. One of my favorite posters was Bob Eli, and I hope all is well with him. It would get very intense sometimes, but that's what made SDF so exciting. Again, Happy Birthday!!!

If it WAS started near the end of 2001, or the beginning of 2002, it is already, or will be in January, SDF's 16th birthday.
