She's performing in the UK in a few weeks & I'm going along to watch her.
She had records out in the late 60's & then again in the 70's, quite a few became top faves on the UK NS & MS scene. She had tracks included on 2 GWP compilation LP's [[Soul Black & Beautiful). Her stuff was released around the world, I have a Brazilian 7" copy of the Arista single.
After she decided she was being ripped off by the record companies, she changed her name to Maydie Myles and sang jazz on the club circuit for years.

JSmith, many thanks for the excellent info. From the little I've been able to find about her, her real name is Maydie Myles, which she changed to Debbie Taylor when she started recording. She then reverted back to her real name, as you said, when she stopped recording. I think she's a fantastic singer who sings with so much emotion. As Dr. Bob Jones says, "so soulful it hurts". Maybe some of the weekender groups should consider bringing her to the UK?
