She is great in it, but the film itself is weak. I imagine many Emmy voters thought she was good but the movie was bad and tuned it out. Kirstie Ally won during her reign for a much easier to watch telepic. Miss Ross can act.

The performance is excellent but it is very hard to watch such a sad movie about a very dark and upsetting theme.

Yes, although it was very good, it was much too depressing for me to want to see it a second time.
