Any help greatly appreciated in advance....
Okay, the earlier Stax tenure of The Emotions recorded a song titled
Take Me Back written by William Hart of the much beloved Delfonics but
does anyone know if his own group ever actually recorded that song. I
myself never remember hearing them do it and couldn't find it anywhere
I looked. Sheila and her sisters certainly do a killer rendition of it but if I
could hear Will sing it, and how he handles that closing wailed chorus...
" I WANT TO BE YOURS!!! Take me back!..." Thank goodness for 70's soul..

I told this story before but here it goes again. I heard a radio interview with Will Hart about 10 years ago on how he wrote the song, La, La Means I love you. His son was a baby in the crib and he used to say la, la, la, all the time. Well that got me to thinking [[which can be dangerous at times) that when I become a grandmother I don't want to be called, Nana, Grandma, etc so I decided that my name would be Lala cause it means I love you! And that's my name!

Sorry to go off topic but...............

Splanky, I checked but could not find any evidence the Delfonics recorded Take Me Back. But that is not to say they didn't...they. might have recorded it with a title change?

I've never heard of them recording it either, but that doesn't mean they didn't. I'd honestly be kind of surprised if they didn't record it.
