One of my favorite Soul Ballads of late 1975 was "Sweet Love" by the Commodores.

I don't ever remember seeing the Modulations performance on Soul Train as much and as
long as I've loved Worth Your Weight In Gold. Lead Larry Duncan definitely makes my list of
most underated male vocalists in soul music. Lot of stuff there I don't have and much unavailable on cd, even the Black Ivory track...Marv, Sweet Love was a masterpiece of a
cut! For the life of me I cannot figure out why Lionel Ritchie abandoned that group and that
sound and though I know it's his right to, I've never forgiven him for it, I must admit...

I have "Love Won't You Stay" by BI on CD. The "Feel It" LP from 75 was released as a papersleeve CD by Sony in 2011.

Love the Modulations! Their LP, "It's Rough Out Here" was one of my top favorite LPs I bought in 1975, every cut was great. It was also released on CD last year.

I agree Splanky. They, the Commodores had struck gold [[in terms of their sound) by the time they released "Sweet Love" and to go on and destroy that just miffs me. "Sweet Love" is one of those "memory enhancement" songs for me. Whenever I hear it, I can remember back to that time, the places I went and the people in my life vividly.

Memory enhancement....I like that. The song does exactly the same thing to me. Even though I lost my own sweet love of that time I can still have her back-in memory...
