If you could create your own lineup of the group from any singer out there [[including the originals), who would you pick? Mine would be Diana Ross, Jean Terrell and Marilyn McCoo.

Was there/is there a 'real' Pearlie Salters? Don't know Shantel Baker of Linda Evans, either. Wow....guess I AM out of the loop. Maybe it's safer that way!

Pearlie was out there with "The New Supremes" back in 1999.

Tony Turner, Beverley Todd and Satan would suffice for me. Satan could be the Ross one, Beverley Todd the mary one and Tony Turner the dead one!

i wonder what things would have been like had Tammi Terrell been well enough to move into the group as Di's replacement. love tammi but i don't know that she would have fit Frank's work as well as Jean did. sure she could sing the songs but there's that indescribable connection between frank and jean.

or there's a rumor that Scherrie's name came up as a potential Di replacement in 1970. Even though we got a MSC lineup later, i wonder what it would have been like to have that lineup fresh when there was actual promotion and push

Well not to take anything away from Jean but Tammi would have nailed it, she was already known and she was absoultely stunning.

Now Scherrie Payne as a replacement for Diana......Scherrie is a nothing but a Team Player and voice from heaven. There was a beautiful blend of MSC voices. Seeing Scherrie perform one is just in awe.

The union of Frank Wilson with Jean Terrell, Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong..The Supremes was a match made in heaven. All this fantasy speculation of whom would have been better than what we actually got is completely ridiculous. Go listen to the old records. No one would have been better than this exact team I mentioned here! Not Syreeta, not Tammi and not Scherrie!

Even on those few songs that were'n't 'bolstered' by Clydie, Venetta and Sherlie?

Perhaps a line-up of Mary, Lynda & Scherrie would be interesting visually and vocally.
If Cindy had not left the group in early 1976 and stayed on til Maryleft in June 1977, would Motown have had more enthusiasm in keeping the group going? Perhaps a line-up of Scherrie, Cindy and Lynda!

Cindy's recording after the 1976 were up to par. If Cindy was so bad, why did Mary get her to come back and help her on the South American tour? Cindy didn't have the strongest voice but did well with what she had.

Not up to par in what way? I never heard this one. She embarked on a solo career [[which fizzled quickly) in the early 80's and didn't sound bad? Who was that coming from, Pedro? Just asking.

Now there you had three lead singers - what vocal power - what greatness - we could have witnessed.
