The music of sixties Detroit has touched many
people in the United Kingdom, and indeed across the world.
Kim and Phil Dick from England, for
example, were married at Hitsville on 25th April 1997.
The local media were there and the wedding went out live on channel 7. Martha Reeves
was in attendance too, and even caught the bride's bouquet.
A special moment for them both.
A couple of years later they would name
their first daughter Tamla.
In death too, the music plays a part.
After the funeral of David Buttle in November 1998, a wake
was held in the Soul Cellar Club in Barnsley, England.
It was a wake with a difference, however,
as his friends and relatives danced the night away to his
favourite 45's. He was known to his many friends as The
Mighty Bub - and he went out in style.
