Any pictures from the Tonight Show Luther king tribute?
i'm thinking that tv show is the Mike Douglass show. just going by the set set-up. similar to the Back In My Arms Again and I Hear A Symphony dvd clips this could have been from their summer of 66 appearance
Wow, wow, wow, - what wonderful pictures of The Supremes at various stages of their careers. Thanks for sharing them with us all.
Anybody knows when and on which occasion the pic of Wilson, Ross & Laurence was taken? Mary and Diana look rather young to me, how come Lynda was already 'in the picture'?
robbert, i think the pic was taken in 1973 at an awards show. diana was nominated for LSTB and the Supremes were best r@b group of the year...or something like that
the first 3 photos of the ladies weraing the INK SPOT gowns from TCB....what ladies are here in th epic...too small to tell
Images Awards??? 1973?? I think they won a lot of them - Motown I mean.!
the ink spot pics are of MJL. the awards show pic of Di, Mary and Lynda is the NAACP awards
Thanks PShark, FINALLY, a pic of all 9 Supremes together.
Robbert, that picture you questioned of Mary Wilson with Diane and Lynda is from the NAACP Image Awards in '73. The Supremes won for "Best Female Group" I use to have a large photo of Mary Wilson accepting the award from Richard Roundtree [[of "Shaft" fame). Sepia Magazine ran full coverage of the event.
Well he didn't look any too happy in this picture either. And the guy 2nd in from the right looks like he's ready to make a run for it.
Here's an illustration I've never seen before of Diana Ross & the Supremes; it's clearly modeled on the classic pose used on 25th ANNIVERSARY but Cindy's been replaced with Flo [[at least that's how it looks to me - which makes sense since it's 1964 and I applaud the attention to detail on someone's part, but why not just base it on a picture from that era that already featured Flo?):
