This is true. I never heard it in the present tense.

Three three-letter words is going to be difficult, but I had solved enough of it by guess #5 that I should have figured it out.

I agree. That’s why I am now going to write down words of 7 or more letters so I can just plug them in to get started rather than wracking my brain trying to find a word. It’s fun to get a phrase in 2 or 3 tries but for long words I’m happy just solving the puzzle no matter how many tries.
