A very tragic story. He certainly wrote some great songs. Thanks Gary.
The other songs he wrote / co wrote were:
"Please Return Your Love To Me" Temptations.
"Sad And Lonely Feeling" Jimmy Ruffin.
"Somebody`s Waiting For Me" Contours.
"This Love Will Never Die" Smokey Robinson & the Miracles.
According to Graham Betts Motown Encyclopedia he wrote/co-wrote 15 songs.
I also believe he was heavily involved in but uncredited on I Heard It Through The Grapevine and Ain't Too Proud To Beg. Can anyone confirm or dispute this?
He possibly had something to do with "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" but I doubt "Ain`t Too Proud To Beg" as it was written prior to January 1966 which is before he was at Motown or so I believe.
Thanks very much, Gary, for posting this informative video.
According to www.dftmc.info; Please Return Your Love To Me was written by Norman Whitfield, Barrett Strong, and Barbara Neely [whomever she might be]. No indication that Rodger was invoved in this song.
You are dead right Bill, my most humble apologies.
The poor guy. Roger was kind and very talented. He deserved so much better.
