    RIP Greg Perry

John Lester announced on Facebook that producer Greg Perry has passed. His best work was with Invictus and of course he was married to the late Edna Wright of Honey Cone.

Another sad loss for us. RIP Greg

I love so much of his music, I think my fav other than the Honey Cone hit singles is from the Mary Wells 1981 Epic lp. He does a track on there "Will You Still Love Me [[Share My Love) which is 6 minutes of breath-taking romantic soul. Should have been a single.

According to Soul & Jazz & Funk, Greg began his music career at Chess Records working with legendary writer/producer Billy Davis. He then turned down a job offer at Motown.

Does anyone know anything about his achievements with Chess and Billy Davis? First I have ever heard anything about his involvement with Chess.

    Thanks.

Here’s an extensive article on Greg including his Chess link. He was very close to Sidney Barnes
