You and me both! I love how he brought the tambourines out more and then overlaid them throughout the record. Sounds even more like a party record.

Are the original master tapes used for these refresh mixes or is it the reprocessing of the stereo mix of the orignal song?

I wish I did have access to the original multi-tracks as it would make life so much easier. It's a combination of reprocessing and re-editing the original mix plus adding new drums, a one take bass line and more tambourine to give it a more contemporary bottom end and to clarify and restore what was originally on tape.
