What a wonderful tribute, ms_m. My heart is heavy that we are losing such an elegant, dignified, eloquent, circumspect and effective President...the best in my lifetime. I shudder for this nation. Thanks again for the love.

Beautiful M, a wonderful tribute to a wonderful person. I think history will treat him much better than his times have. President Obama stood firm and elegant in the face of so much obstruction. In my lifetime no other president was as disrespected as he was, but that just seem to make him stand firmer and be even more elegant. He faced the storm and obstruction and still managed, through his policies, to make life better for so many people. President Obama is a class act, we may not see the likes of him for sometime, if ever. Thank You, Mr. President.

To go from an intelligent, communicative, bright, empathetic man who genuinely appears to care about every American to an orange troglodyte who is not even accepted in his own circle of society due to his lack of basic humanity is going to be a bitter pill to swallow. The world will never take our leader seriously again because it will not take our populace seriously for one staining the highest office in the land and most powerful seat of power in the world with a clueless autistic buffoon with the attention span of a two-year old.

Thank you President Obama and Mrs. Obama!

To go from this beautiful and elegant and articulate and intelligentt and graceful family to an Orange face fool with the vocabulary of a 4th Grader is heartbreaking. President Obama is the greatest President ever imo and for the recvord Donald Trump is NOT and NEVER will be my president.

Thank you dear Ms_m for the lovely photos.

    Yours, with every good wish.

    Roberta

I sincerely hope that President Obama's achievements will not be undone by his successor. We could do with more politicians of his calibre over here.

Ah, great photos, thank you ms_m. And thank you Mr. President Obama!

Glad everyone is enjoying the pics. You are very welcome.

[[CNN) President Barack Obama surprised an emotional Vice President Joe Biden Thursday by presenting him the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor, during a White House ceremony.

How do I say goodbye to what we had?
The good times that made us laugh
    Outweigh the bad.

I thought we'd get to see forever
    But forever's gone away
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

I don't know where this road
    Is going to lead
All I know is where we've been
    And what we've been through.

If we get to see tomorrow
I hope it's worth all the wait
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

And I'll take with me the memories
To be my sunshine after the rain
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

And I'll take with me the memories
To be my sunshine after the rain
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

That would have been cool Marv. Feel free to post anything you can find though.

Of course anyone is free to post or say anything that's on their mind but I started this as an appreciation thread because the negativity from the incoming admin is so overwhelming.

There's very little I would thank Obama for, especially for a 2 term President. However, I n keeping with the spirit of this thread, I will say that I think Obama is a good man who has worked extremely hard to serve his country and do what he believes best to improve the country. Although I don't agree with most of his politics I can appreciate his tremendous sacrifice to serve in our government. I wish nothing but the best for the Obamas in their post-Presidency period.

Never heard of Joey Gallant until I saw this. After doing some research, I'm very impressed with his socially conscious resume as well as his singing.

Thanks for the heads up Sanradio. This kid has some serious chops!

No problem, ms_m! I hadn't heard of him either until this. I predict an incredibly bright future for him.

He was such of model of patience, integrity, and sound governance. To have suffered the slings and arrows of disrespect for eight years while running this country, being a good husband and father and leading through example I believe history will be gracious to him and the first family. Thank you Mr. President, job well done.

There were quite a few anti-inauguration events today here in San Diego. I marched in the "Protest Trump on Inauguration Day" march. With strong winds and rain we still managed to get about 300 or so folks marching. We walked from Balboa Park to the Federal Building where a rally was held. Tomorrow I will be marching with the San Diego Chapter of the Million Women March. Activism has been helping me get over the horror of the election. It’s like the 1960’s all over again.

I wish the music was as good as it was in the 60’s.

That's pretty cool, especially since that is exactly what we should be doing. Getting engaged in the process and staying engaged.

    Be careful !!!!!

    We'll talk soon. I promise

  37. #37
Yeah, I got kind of slack on the staying engaged part myself. I stay careful. There was little publicity for the march I was in and it didn’t draw a lot of spectators on the route which was mostly through downtown. There were some support signs and people waving. Some guy with a bull horn shouting his love for trump heckled us for awhile then realizing how stupid he looked by himself he stopped. We got the thumbs down but got the thumbs up more often. With the bad weather and other counter inauguration events in the city this march stayed small and peaceful. But as a microcosm I was [[one) impressed with the diversity of people who came out to protest, but [[two) troubled by the openly hostile looks from a few too many of the police. Don’t think things will be getting better soon.
